Good Underwear?

"The house breathes with you, like good underwear," said a lisping voice from the shadows.
This is one of the strangest sentences I have ever read, in any book, at any time.  I found this marvelous quote whilst reading Player Piano by Kurt Vonnegut Jr.  It was too awesome to not share with you, my special blog friends.
I'm not entirely sure I even know what it means.

Oooh! That is an unusual sentence! I like it, though :) (Can't say I know what it means, either, but it's still pretty cool!)

Player Piano is a dystopian novel about a future American society where the majority of the workforce has been replaced by machines and Engineers run everything. I'm halfway through it and it is pretty good so far, although not as good as 1984, or Fahrenheit 451. This is the first Vonnegut novel I have read, although I have also read his short story Harrison Bergeron, which I recommend.
